ABOUT ME

Hey guys! My name is Lauren Ross and I am a full time film student in Maryland. I got into fitness by Sophomore year of college and I’ve been going to the gym ever since. I am naturally thin and have had a ridiculously fast metabolism my entire life. I have always been active and did cheerleading and gymnastics for many years in the past. When I first started going to the gym, I began with cardio like most girls. I never had to lift for cheerleading but we did conditioning every day (push ups, sprints, tumbling, etc.) and mostly focused on core work. Naturally, that’s how I started in the gym because abs and cardio were all I knew. I eventually started watching and following a lot of fitness girls on Youtube and Instagram. I genuinely thought it looked fun so I decided to get started. Not many girls were lifting yet, but the ones that did mainly trained glutes. It took about 7 months to begin to see small results, but when you enjoy what you’re doing, the focus is less on what you look like in the moment and more, the fun you are having in the gym. My biggest advice to those that get into lifting is that patience and consistency will get you farther than you could ever imagine. I never thought I would be able to gain weight and I have managed to gain almost 25 lbs since beginning my journey, with a couple fat loss periods along the way.
