Aflete’s workout playlist!
We all lack a little motivation every now and then. On a cold, wet Sunday morning, it’s understandable that we don’t want to leave the warmth of our homes to go running, cycling or to the gym. Why go into the cold when you have a radiator inside and a kettle?
You can shout “just do it!” all you like, but sometimes yelling at yourself doesn’t work. You can look in the mirror and say, “I CAN DO THIS!” as much as you like, but the mirror won’t turn to you and say, “Yes you can, Bob!” (You’re Bob right now.) So, Bob, shouting at yourself doesn’t work, your couch is pulling you in and you’ve still got no motivation, what do you turn to? Why not turn to some good old, pumped up, blood pumping, heart racing music? The glorious thing about music is that it can make you do things, make you feel things and make you want things within the first few seconds of it coming on the radio. So the next time you ask yourself how to become more motivated, grab your iPod, Mp3, mobile (whatever you use) and listen to some music.
Here is Aflete’s playlist for motivation for this week. Enjoy!

“Broken Arrows In Your Heart”
Take the same feeling from Avicii‘s now-classic gym joint “Wake Me Up,” increase the synthesizers and excitement tenfold and you’ve got a perfect new gym song.
2. Born To Run – Bruce Springsteen
“Cause tramps like us, baby we were born to run”
If you don’t feel the need to yell out at the top of your voice and sing along with this wonderful song then we should check your temperature. Surely the title says it all, we were born to run. So run!
3. Pump It Up – Danzel
“Throw your hands in the air, lift your head up high”
This is an old song. It’s one of those songs you expect to hear in a club in Ibiza still. However cheesy or bad you think this song is, aerobics and Pump It Up go well together. You can create a great and energetic aerobics routine to this song and feel motivated throughout.
4. Let Me Think About It – Ida Corr vs Fredde Le Grand
“I’ll make you feel like heaven is near”
Yes, the video is a little racy, but the song has such a good rhythm that you can look past it. If you don’t fancy running, this is a great song to dance to, whether it is just around your living room or in a studio. It will keep your energy high and your sweat glands working!
5. The Way I Are – Timbaland ft Keri Hilson
“I like you just the way you are”
We know. It’s exceptionally cheesy but exceptionally catchy! Plus, it’s got a good message behind it, right? ‘I like you just the way you are’ is a lovely thing to hear. This is a great song to run to, lift to, and box to. Working up a sweat will be easy with this song playing.
