The reason why HIIT workout is different from other workouts is its ability to increases the resting metabolic rate for 24 hours after the workout is complete, in other words, this means after you are done with the workout, your body is still burning excess fat for another whole day! Besides, Unlike other workouts that last for a long time such a marathon, HIIT does not cause the breakdown of muscle tissue. Instead, HIIT helps with the improvement of power, speed and metabolic rate.

What can I do before the workout to get better?

in order to do better in a HIIT workout, it’s important to have some amount of intake before you exercise. That way, your body will feel energized enough to complete all the hardcore movements you are about to do. However, that doesn’t mean to eat a lot or to eat snacks with high calories. Just stick with some small healthy bites with high protein and provides good quality carbs.

what can I do after the workout to get better?

Stretch! Stretch! Stretch! Stretching is proven to improve flexibility and prevent the shortening of muscle in the long run. Aside from that, eat some post workout snack that contains around 200 t0 300 calories depending on how intense your workout was. Maybe have a glass of milk or some smoothies for great protein and carbohydrates!
